Aston Villa's search for a new manager is over.
They've appointed "one of their own" in the form of Dean Smith, who has enjoyed successful spells at both Brentford and Walsall.
But are Villans happy with Steve Bruce's replacement? Having been linked with the likes of Thierry Henry, Smith does not represent a high-profile figure.
However, he has convinced John Terry to join his coaching staff and a new brand of attacking football could soon be on the cards for the Championship club.
We spoke to Ben Taylor-Matthews to find out how the Villa faithful has reacted to the new man in the hot seat.
Daily Football Tips
Are you happy with Dean Smith's appointment?
"Dean Smith has a good record so we’re all hoping he can continue that with the pressure of a bigger club. I think we’re looking forward to the style of play.
"The style and the fact that he’s a local lad would have played a big part [in his appointment]."
Are you pleased to have John Terry back at the club?
"John Terry's experience is great for the younger players, I don’t doubt that. I would rather have seen Smith bring his own staff in as it’s proved to work. Terry is a risk, but fingers crossed."
Can you see Terry becoming a successful manager in the future?
"JT is a leader so shows great qualities in that respect. The players he manages will dictate his success I think."
Prediction time - do you think you will be promoted this season?
"No! We actually have a very good squad, but I think last year was our year and history shows that generally teams don’t get that opportunity two seasons in a row."
