Chelsea, with their squad of extremely expensive players, were played off the park by Rafa’s boys with ease. Championship team my arse.

Jonjo Shelvey, who surely now must be in England's preliminary World Cup squad, was the best player on the pitch and ran the whole show once again.
Next to him was Mo Diame, who dominated N’Golo Kante all afternoon, which is something I never thought I would ever say. Ever.
Ayoze Perez rounded off his impressive season with a brace to finish in double figures in the Premier League for the first time, as he shows once again that when he gets some consistency in his game, he is a genuine class player at Premier League level.
I could go through the whole team, as we sealed a top half finish in highly impressive fashion and the only job Mike Ashley has now is to give Benitez a specific transfer and wage budget, so he knows what he is dealing with to continue into next season.
You have one job to do Ashley…do not f**k this up!
Has this season been a success?
Absolutely. We had one goal this season and that was to stay in the Premier League. We have ended up doing it at a canter and to finish in the top half was beyond most people’s expectations.
At the start of the season I said we would not finish in the bottom six and end up somewhere around 13th but Rafa and the boys have put in one hell of a shift over the past three months and got us a top 10. Excellent job all round.
Are you happy with your manager?
Er, yeah. We have Benitez. We don’t deserve him, well actually let me be specific, Ashley doesn’t deserve him for everything he has done to this unbelievable club. The fans deserve the best, and we have to keep him.
Ashley made a typically empty statement after the last game of the season, mentioning he “would like” Rafa to stay and he will give him “every penny the club generates”. That isn’t good enough.
Rafa deals in facts, he needs to know exactly how much money he has to build a team. So give him that. That’s all you need to do, mate.
What should be the club's priority in the transfer market this summer?
Apart from keeping Benitez, our top priority player wise is a new striker. A good one. One that will be capable of scoring 20 goals in a season.
The amount of chances we have wasted this season has been frightening at times.
Dwight Gayle has unfortunately shown that he isn’t reliable enough at Premier League level, so we have to bring in ourselves a new No.9 to become a Toon hero.
What do you want to aim for next season?
Next season we should be aiming to try and improve on our points tally and try to get another top-10 finish. There is no reason why not.
We also need to give the cup competitions a real good go. The Toon Army love a cup run and we have been starved of that during the Ashley regime for far too long. If Rafa is here, he is the perfect man to do it.
