Liverpool fans are becoming increasingly tired concerning the continual wealth of stories linking Philippe Coutinho with a move away from Anfield, and are probably resigned to the fact that their influential midfielder will not be at the club past January 2018.
However, the thought of the loss of Coutinho is not likely to be offset by the news of the player Jurgen Klopp is reportedly eyeing up at the Brazilian's replacement.
That player is Suso, who was a player at Anfield from 2010 before he left without much gnashing of teeth in January 2015. Suso had been at Liverpool from the age of seventeen but failed to barge his way into the first team and ended up only making fourteen appearances in the league for the Reds.
Since leaving Liverpool Suso spent a season on loan at Genoa before finally establishing himself as a first team regular at Milan.
The versatile Suso's stock has increased immensely since leaving Liverpool, but he still hasn't made an international appearance for Spain, and he is not the type of 'blow your socks off' signing Liverpool fans will no doubt hope to hear about should Coutinho be sold.
Suso is available for £35 million due to a transfer clause, which should not cause too much of a chink in the £135 million Liverpool are reportedly asking for as the fee for Coutinho.
With Emre Can also reported to be on the verge of leaving, an with Jurgen Klopp's historic reluctance to spend in the January transfer window Liverpool fans might find that their side's 2017-18 campaign will fade out with barely the faintest whisper.
