Manchester United's pre-season is not going to plan.
The majority of the Red Devils' best players are yet to kick a ball in anger, having been given time off to recover from their World Cup exploits.

Manager Jose Mourinho is not a happy bunny - and he's firing shots at everyone.
United suffered a chastening 4-1 defeat to rivals Liverpool over the weekend and the Portuguese coach cut loose in his post-match comments.
The criticism came from all angles. Mourinho moaned about the referee, complained about his club's lack of transfers, suggested American fans had wasted their money by paying to watch his team play and even had a little dig at Antonio Valencia's fitness.
He went on to tell the BBC: "We are trying to play these matches as best we can and to avoid ugly defeats but this one gave me nothing at all."
Mourinho's moaning has not gone unnoticed by fans, some of whom are a little perplexed as to why he is kicking up such a stink.
United finished second in the Premier League last season but such a defeatist attitude makes it difficult to see Mourinho's men challenging at this point.
After all, if such negative messages are coming right from the top, then surely the bad feeling will spread at Old Trafford?
All hope is not lost....
